SAN GABRIEL, CA – Police Chief David A. Lawton announced this week that he will retire at the end of April after serving nearly 26 years as chief.
Lawton is the longest serving police chief in Los Angeles County and second longest serving chief currently in office in California. He has served a total of 38 years with the San Gabriel Police Department, starting at the department as a police officer in 1977.
